With effect from 1 April 2009 the responsibilities of the Northern Tobacco Control Group (TCG) have transferred to the new regional Public Health Agency.
This website will continue to be available and kept up to date with information.  Existing contact details will remain.

The Northern Tobacco Control Group (TCG) works in partnership with the Department of Health, Social Services and Public Safety to deliver effective smoking cessation and preventative initiatives throughout the former Northern Board area. The Northern TCG is made up of all the many agencies with a remit for tobacco control.

The Northern TCG aims to raise awareness of the dangers of tobacco smoke through public information campaigns, health education programmes, provision of smoking cessation services to support those who wish to quit, preventative initiatives and promotion of smoke-free environments. It also addresses inequalities by targeting vulnerable groups:

• Children and young people;
  
• Pregnant women; and
  
• Disadvantaged adults.
  

Welcome to the Spring 2009 edition of 'No Butts', the Northern Tobacco Control Groups newsletter. The newsletter highlights the work of the TCG team and service providers within the Northern Board area. It also includes articles on No Smoking Day.
